Amended service between Oxenholme Lake District and Glasgow Central / Edinburgh from Saturday 23 to 05:00 on Tuesday 26 May

Engineering work is taking place between Oxenholme Lake District and Glasgow Central/Edinburgh with various line closures.

CrossCountry services today will be diverted and not call at Motherwell, buses will run between Glasgow Central and Motherwell.

First TransPennine Express services today between Manchester Airport and Edinburgh/Glasgow Central will be diverted to terminate/start at Windermere, buses replace trains between Oxenholme Lake District/Penrith/Carlisle/Lockerbie and Edinburgh/Glasgow Central.

Tomorrow, the service between Manchester Airport and Edinburgh/Glasgow Central will terminate/start at Carlisle, buses replace trains between Carlisle and Edinburgh/Glasgow Central.

On Tuesday the 04:22 Glasgow Central to Manchester Airport will start from Carlisle.

Balloch to Larkhall - Today, services are diverted to / from Hamilton West via Whifflet and Motherwell.

Glasgow Central to Lanark - today, buses will replace trains between Glasgow Central and Lanark, calling at all booked stations.

Milngavie to Motherwell / Cumbernauld / Motherwell to Dalmuir - Today, buses replace trains between Bridgeton and Larkhall until approximately 10:00 and after 18:00 between Dalmarnock and Larkhall. Between10:00 and 18:00 buses will call at all intermediate stations.  

Virgin Trains - Today, buses replace trains between Oxenholme Lake District and Edinburgh/Glasgow Central. Additionally, trains are diverted between Milton Keynes Central and Rugby. Tomorrow, buses replace trains between Carlisle and Edinburgh / Glasgow Central. 

Virgin Trains East Coast - Tomorrow, the 06:55 from Glasgow Central to London Kings Cross will start from Edinburgh at 08:00. Today, the 16:30 London Kings Cross to Glasgow Central service will terminate at Edinburgh.

Dry (T-Total) Trains from Kings Cross after 18.30 on Sunday 24 May

Due to a sporting event taking place in London on Sunday 24 May 2015, Virgin Trains East Coast will be operating a ‘dry trains’ policy. The dry train status will apply to all services departing London King’s Cross from 18.30 and 22.00 which call at Newcastle.

The restriction will apply between Kings Cross and Newcastle only.

The following Virgin Trains East Coast services will be deemed Dry Trains:

18.21 Central service to Sunderland is also a dry train.

This means that alcohol cannot be brought onto or purchased on board our trains and customers may be searched before boarding.

East Coast have prohibited the possession of intoxicating liquor from the above mentioned train services on Sunday 24 May 2015.

It is an offence under Byelaw 4(2) of the Railway Byelaws, for any person travelling on the services listed above to be in possession of intoxicating liquor or to attempt to enter any of the above trains with intoxicating liquor.

No trains between Leeds and Wakefield Westgate until 16:00 on Sunday 24 May

Engineering work is taking place between Leeds and Outwood, closing the line until 16:00.

CrossCountry, East Midlands Trains and Virgin Trains East Coast services will be diverted and not call at Wakefield Westgate, this will extend journey times by up to 5 minutes.

Northern Rail services that usually run between Leeds and Doncaster / Sheffield will run between Wakefield Westgate and Doncaster / Sheffield only.

Buses will run between Leeds / Sheffield / Doncaster and Wakefield Westgate.
