19:00 from Edinburgh to Doncaster will be a T-Total train

The 19:00 service from Edinburgh to Doncaster, Saturdays only, will be an alcohol free train. You will not be able to bring alcohol in any form, onto the train, or consume it whilst on board. This policy has been put in place to ensure that all of our customers can enjoy a more pleasant journey.

Virgin Trains East Coast have prohibited the possession of intoxicating liquor from the above mentioned train service.

It is an offence under Byelaw 4(2) of the Railway Byelaws, for any person travelling on the services listed above to be in possession of intoxicating liquor or to attempt to enter any of the above trains with intoxicating liquor.

These changes are reflected in the timetables when planning your journey or booking your ticket using the online booking engine.

Amended service in the Doncaster area from 21:00 Saturday 30 until 11:50 Sunday 31 July

Engineering work is taking place between Doncaster and York / Leeds, closing some lines. Read more about engineering work and why it is necessary.

CrossCountry

20:30 (Saturday) Birmingham New Street to York service will be diverted between Sheffield and York, not calling at Doncaster.

20:27 (Saturday) Coventry to Leeds service will be diverted between Sheffield and Leeds, not calling at Doncaster.

Connecting passengers should use alternative services between Sheffield, Doncaster and York / Leeds.

Grand Central

07:55 (Sunday) Bradford Interchange to London Kings Cross service is re-timed to start later than usual at 08:16. The train will run later throughout.

11:50 (Sunday) London Kings Cross to Bradford Interchange service is re-timed to start later than usual at 12:36. The train will also run later throughout.

Northern

22:19 (Saturday) Leeds to Doncaster service will be replaced by a bus between Wakefield Westgate and Doncaster.

09:12 (Sunday) Doncaster to Leeds service will start from Wakefield Westgate at 09:40. A bus will operate between Doncaster and Leeds, calling to set down only at Wakefield Westgate.

Virgin Trains East Coast

21:00 (Saturday) London Kings Cross to Newcastle service will be diverted between Doncaster and York, extending journey times by up to 30 minutes.

22:00 (Saturday) London Kings Cross to Leeds service will be replaced by a bus between Doncaster and Leeds.

08:00 (Sunday) York to London Kings Cross service will be cancelled.

08:05 (Sunday) Leeds to London Kings Cross service will start from Doncaster at 08:37.

09:37 (Sunday) Doncaster to Edinburgh service will start from York at 10:01.

10:20 (Sunday) London Kings Cross to Newcastle service will start from Doncaster at 11:59.
